Global Investigation Team Joins Effort
to Ensure Internet Safety for Children
The HTCIA (High Technology Crime
Investigation Association) has launched an Internet Safety for Children
campaign. The program is chaired by Anthony Gentilucci, (former) Manager, HP Global
Security Investigations, REWS EHS&S
and Marianna
Novielli, U. S. Secret Service, assigned to the National Center for Missing
and Exploited Children. Additionally, Sarah Allendale, of HP Global Security
Investigations, also represents HP on this committee.
HTCIA members hope to reach out to children by promoting and facilitating
existing "Internet Child Safety" programs. Their efforts will be proactive
and allied between the public and private sector, primarily facilitated
through the HTCIA web site. This interactive program includes training
materials ranging from presentation materials to "easy-to-follow" question
and answer templates to engage children in actively participating in a
training event. The committee intends to have "online" safety tips and offer
promotional items such as mouse pads, digital cameras, and other computer
products. This portable and easy-to-use presentation kit is useful in a
variety of settings such as schools, children's clubs, scouting or church
groups.
